Owner/Director
My name is Dana DeGroat Schnell and I am the mother of three of the best
kids in the world. My son Blake is 10, Joseph is 7 and my daughter
Allyson is 6. They have been the highlight of my life. I have
always loved working with children and their families and have
dedicated my life’s work to this passion. My father is the founder
of Learning Tree and Children’s Village. As a child, I loved to help
him out in the day to day operations of his child care facilities.
As I grew up, I directed some of his sites while attending Portland
State University. It was there that I obtained a Bachelor of Arts
degree in Spanish and a Bachelor of Science degree in Child and
Family Studies with a specialization in administration of child care
facilities. The internship I performed was at the State of Oregon;
Services to Children and Families, where I was a case worker
assistant. While I was still in school, I was offered a full time position
with the agency and remained there for three years. I loved what I
did, helping and protecting children and providing services for their
families. What I did not love was seeing on a daily basis, the atrocities that face so
many children. In 1997, after having my first child, I knew it was time for me to move
on.
In 2000, I purchased a Learning Tree Day School in Eugene, Oregon. I moved my family there and built an amazing program that I am very proud to be a part of to this day! While I really loved it there, I had always wanted to raise my kids in the Camas/Vancouver area and so in 2005, I moved back to help my father with his consulting business.
For the last three years, I have been working very closely with him; developing, planning and consulting on new sites throughout the Pacific NW. Then, when the opportunity came to own this center, I knew that I couldn’t pass it up. I live in Camas and am already very involved with the community. Children’s Village at Fisher’s Landing is a beautiful school and I look forward to being a part of it.
Because my three children are my life, I can appreciate each and every parent that entrusts me to care for and educate their children. It is truly an honor to be a part of your lives, and above all, a part of your children’s lives.
Education Director
Hi, My name is Miss Tanya, and I am the Education Director here at Children's Village at Fisher's Landing. I've had the wonderful and unique benefit of being a part of this wonderful team since our beautiful building was still under construction. Watching our school grow literally from the ground up has been such a rewarding experience. I can only imagine what the future holds for our unique school community. I am a certified Early Childhood Master Teacher and over the past 10 years I've worked extensively in the field of early education in a variety of capacities which include both teaching and administrative positions. I am passionate about
providing exceptional care and education for young children and I truly love working alongside our wonderful teachers to develop our educational program. I have been married to my husband for 6 years and our son is in the Maples class here at Children's Village. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, cooking and working in my garden.
Administrative Assistant
My name is Miss Beth. I am the administrative assistant at Children's Village Day School at Fisher's Landing. I have been here for about one year now and I love my job. The best part of my job is the children. I love seeing their smiling faces every morning. I have three children of my own, a 16 year old son, an 11 year old son and a 10 year old daughter. All three of them play various sports so we spend a lot of time at practices and games. I consider myself extremely lucky to have such great kids! I have really enjoyed working here at Children's Village. I have worked in
banking in the past as well as for the Centennial school district, but this has been
my favorite job by far! Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful children with us every day!
