Kitchen Coordinator
Hello! My name is April Martin. I am the Kitchen Coordinator at Children's Village at Fisher's Landing. I've been with this center since it opened in 2006. Previously, I have cooked for another childcare facility as well as in restaurants. I have one 7 year old daughter, Aleena, who very much enjoys attending this center. She and I cook a lot together at home. I enjoy spending as much time as I can with my family doing outdoor activities or snuggling inside. I am fortunate enough to be able to plan the entire menu here at Children's Village, keeping old favorites but adding new fun and healthy items monthly. I enjoy being a part
of the children's exploration of new tastes and textures. My favorite part of a typical day at the center is delivering the food to the classrooms - I'm greeted with cheers, hugs and precious art work from the children. Knowing they enjoy the food I've prepared is very rewarding, making all the effort definitely worth it!
Toddler Assistant
Hello, My name is Stefanie Gamble and I am an assistant teacher in the Big Acorn Class. I am originally from Tri-Cities where I was a Toddler teacher for 2 ½ years but recently moved to Vancouver to continue school towards my Masters in Education. I am currently attending Clark College and will soon be transferring to WSU in Vancouver . I began babysitting at a young age, was a youth leader for my church and for 7 years helped out at a young girls camp in Oregon . Working with children is a passion of mine and what I do best. I enjoy walking in each morning and seeing their bright faces.
Watching the children grow and learn is an amazing aspect of working as a Teacher. My goal in life has always been to do something that makes a difference in the world. I know that i have surpassed that goal and I feel proud to be teaching these childrens so many different skills that will help shape their future.
